CECAB has organized two-day Training-cum-Workshop on Managing Interpersonal Conflict for twenty two managers of Sunrise Bank Ltd from 13 to 14 March 2014 at Hotel Pacific Ltd.

The objectives of the program were to:

  1. Develop conceptual understandings about interpersonal conflict in organizational context and its value for individual and organizational growth;
  2. Identify and recognize the existing interpersonal conflicting situation in the workplace;
  3. Analyze the level of conflict and their implications; and
  4. Develop strategies for resolving negative interpersonal conflicts and promote positive conflicts of organization for innovations and development.

The program was successfully accomplished with group works and presentations of the participants separating into three groups who presented in the presence of Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Sunrise Bank Ltd and the subject expert on thematic issue relating to:

  1. Analysis of Interpersonal Conflict between Superiors and Subordinates in Sunrise Bank Ltd;
  2. Analysis of Interpersonal Conflict among the Peers in Sunrise Bank Ltd; and
  3. Analysis of Work Culture with Respect to Mitigate Interpersonal Conflict in Sunrise Bank Ltd. All the groups have developed their strategic action plans for managing the common interpersonal conflicts of Sunrise Bank Ltd both for individual and organizational growth and development.

Nevertheless, participants expressed their feelings and experiences about the program enunciating that the training workshop helped them not only to conceptualize about the subject matters but also to update their knowledge and skills in developing frameworks of interpersonal conflict, which would be practically supportive to improve their work efficiency in the workplace.

At the end of the program, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Bank also expressed his satisfactory remarks on modality of the training workshop and its successful undertakings. However, the program of this type was organized for the first time to the Sunrise Bank and it was also felt to continue such type of programs even for other staff of different levels.
