Center for Capacity Building conducted one-day Training Program on Leadership Skills and Team Management for junior managers and operation managers on 14 December, 2013 with a view to develops conceptual understanding about leadership skills; and team management for improving work organizations of the participants. The program was undertaken full day at Hotel Pacific Pvt. Ltd. with thorough interactions and practical exercises. The participants were mainly from Sunrise Bank Ltd, Growmore Merchant Banker Ltd, Narayani National Finance Ltd, and Nepal Bank Ltd.

In the training program, participants in heterogeneous group setting were found happy for having better opportunities to learn and share by each others on subject issues. Besides, trainees were found highly benefited from invaluable inputs of the experienced resource persons who were ex-governor, ex-secretary, and national level training and management experts.

Training was designed particularly to make a learner-led program focusing on bridging the managerial and behavioral gaps of the participants. Departing from theoretical inputs, the program was focused more on practical knowledge and skills in the current Nepalese contexts and environment.

The group works and presentations made by the participants during the training program with suggestive comments of the resource persons were found useful not only for the participants for their personal behavior but also for their work organizations to bring change in the workplace. As the participants felt that the duration of the training was somehow too short for the aforesaid cross-cutting issues, the program was the eye-opening towards the above ends.

Nevertheless, participants from the training program were able to develop the frameworks for improvement in the above mentioned subject areas.
